3. Six-month certificate course in Computer Application from a government-recognized institute.
Junior Scale Stenographer 1. Graduation from any recognized university.
2. Diploma in Stenography recognized by the State Government.
3. Six-month certificate course in Computer Application from a government-recognized institute.
Steno-Typist 1. Graduation from any recognized university.
2. Six-month certificate course in Computer Application from a government-recognized institute.
Chief Librarian 1. Graduation in Library Sciences (B.Lib).
2. At least three years of experience in the relevant field.
Librarian 1. Graduation in Library Sciences (B.Lib).
2. At least two years of experience in the relevant field.
Library Assistant 1. Graduation in Library Sciences (B.Lib).
Translator 1. B.A. with Urdu as one of the subjects.
2. B.Ed (Professional) recognized by the University of Jammu/Kashmir or University Grants Commission.
3. Proficiency in computer usage with a typing speed of not less than 30 words per minute.
The age limits for applicants as of January 1, 2024, are set with a minimum age of 18 years. The maximum age varies by category: for the general category, it is 40 years; for SC/ST/RBA/PSP/OSC/EWS candidates, it is 43 years; for physically challenged candidates, it is 42 years; for ex-servicemen, it is 48 years; and for government service or contractual employees, the maximum age is 40 years.
JK HC Steno Selection Process
Written Test: Candidates will first take a written exam to assess their knowledge and suitability for the position. The test will include questions on general knowledge, reasoning, and subject-specific topics relevant to the job
Skill Test: For roles such as Senior Scale Stenographer, Junior Scale Stenographer, and Steno-Typist, candidates must take a skill test in shorthand and typing. This test evaluates their practical abilities in these essential skills.
Interview: Candidates who pass the written and skill tests will be invited for an interview. The interview allows the selection committee to interact with candidates and assess their overall suitability for the position.
